Politician Lies through Omission

Its political silly season in New Zealand again. Election year is pregnant with gifts and baubles for punters, hanging delicously off political party hooks waiting for voters to bite. This time around its taxes – cuts, and non-cuts. But other craziness on the table includes socialising the food side of the grocery industry (Greens), virtual-signalling austerity (National), immigrant-focused fiscal austerity (New Zealand First), and other stuff which just annoys me.

I hate political season. Although, I would absolutely hate it more if someone took it away.

Thomas Coughlan wrote this piece which should be require reading for all. Its about how politicians, with all of their promises, lie about the public service cuts those promises imply. Its a mastery piece of journalism, which everyone should read.
