Here’s three pictures of delicous full cream milk from New Zealand, with one massive, massive difference between them.
Can you spot it?
The first picture is from Woolworths Lower Hutt store, taken on the 17 December 2025. The second picture is from Pac n Save Lower Hutt, taken on the 19 December 2025. The third picture is from Michel-Ange in Noumea, taken on the 10 January 2026.
Meadowfresh Milk, brought in Woolworths Lower Hutt, is $4.29. Anchor milk in Pac n Save Lower Hutt is $2.99 NZ (extra low!!).
Anchor Milk, brought in Noumea is $2.46 NZ, 18% cheaper then the cheapest version in Lower Hutt New Zealand.
I’m pretty sure the New Caledonian government is not subsidising New Zealand Milk… so… what’s with the New Zealand price differences?!?
ADDENDUM:
It’s now February 2026, and I’m in Nadi, Fiji. The same New Zealand milk is here. Its prices are:
Anchor: $FJ 2.87 equals $NZ 2.19
Meadowfresh: $FJ 3.12 equals $NZ 2.38
